Title: Maintaining Measurement Accuracy: Calibration and Maintenance of Temperature Measurement Systems in Graphitization FurnacesMar 18, 2026

I. Core Component: Calibration of Infrared Pyrometer

  • Calibration Method:The dual-color infrared pyrometer used for measurements above 1000°C is a high-precision optical instrument. Its calibration needs to be performed in a professional laboratory using standard equipment such as a blackbody furnace. Therefore, when accuracy is in doubt or during regular maintenance, the pyrometer needs to be sent back to the manufacturer or a nationally authorized metrology institution for calibration.

  • Calibration Cycle:The recommended calibration cycle is1 to 2 years, depending on usage frequency and the strictness of accuracy requirements.

II. On-Site Verification and Alternative Solutions

  • On-Site Verification:Between formal calibrations, quick on-site verification can be performed using thethermocouple comparison method. Place a calibrated Type B or Type C thermocouple and the infrared measurement point at specific positions in the furnace simultaneously, compare the readings at a stable temperature stage (e.g., 1500°C). If the deviation is too large, the pyrometer needs to be sent for calibration.

  • Thermocouple Calibration:For medium and low-temperature measurements or thermocouples used for redundant temperature measurement, calibration can be performed according to national standards (JJG) by sending them to local metrology institutes, with relatively shorter cycles.

III. Our Service Support

We can providecalibration liaison services, assisting customers in sending pyrometers to the original manufacturer or authoritative institutions. Additionally, during equipment commissioning and acceptance, we use calibrated standard temperature measurement equipment to verify the temperature control accuracy of the equipment, ensuring accuracy from the factory.
