Cost Consideration: Why Graphitization Furnaces Do Not Come Standard with Protective Gas Recovery Systems?Mar 18, 2026

I. Core Reason: Controllable Operating Costs

Our equipment operates using amicro-positive pressuremethod, requiring only that the pressure inside the furnace be maintained slightly above atmospheric pressure. Consequently, the flow demand for protective gas is very small, typically requiring only about0.9 standard cubic meters per hour.

Calculated based on current argon market prices, the hourly gas cost for continuous operation is relatively low. Installing a recovery system that includes collection, purification, and re-liquefaction involves high equipment investment and maintenance costs. Compared with the savings in gas expenses, this is economicallyextremely unfavorable.

II. Technical Complexity

Volatiles generated during the graphitization process may contaminate the gas. After recovery, complex purification devices are required to achieve the high purity needed for reuse, increasing system complexity and potential failure points.

III. Recommendations for Customers

For the vast majority of customers, optimizing processes and reducing gas waste during material changes are more direct and effective ways to reduce costs. Our equipment guides you on how to minimize gas consumption through program settings while ensuring safety.
